Percussion and drum repair.
On-site. One visit. Percussion is all we do.
Bono Percussion repairs and tunes drums and percussion on site for school bands, churches, universities, and musicians across Texas and North Carolina. The job is planned in advance so the right parts and heads are on the truck, a technician comes to you, and the work is finished in a single visit. Timpani, keyboards, marching gear, concert percussion, hand drums, one drum or a full inventory.
Trusted by directors and programs across Texas and North Carolina

Directors don't hand their gear to just anyone
When a band is playing the honor-band slot at the TMEA or NCMEA conventions, or performing at The Midwest Clinic, the directors call us first to make sure the gear is 100 percent.
“Rich has worked on our school timpani and other percussion equipment for several years. Honestly, I wouldn't trust anyone else to provide the same service.”
Jack Forbis
Trust
“I never had to miss out on time with my students to get the service completed. Our drums are still sounding GREAT!”
Emilio Monreal
Your time back
“He finished the overhaul in a few hours and now the timpani are as good as new!”

A 30-day guarantee
If something is not working as it should within 30 days, we fix it for free. Usually a quick video consult, an on-site visit only if it is needed.
Authorized parts dealer
Bono Percussion is an authorized repair-parts dealer for Ludwig, Musser, Pearl, Adams, and Yamaha. Every technician carries their own insurance and has passed a background check.
What we handle, and how it works
Percussion is the only thing we work on, and that focus is the point. A full inventory or one drum, the same team handles it. Open a section below for the detail.
| Category | What we cover |
|---|---|
| Timpani | Heads, pedals, tuning gauges, brake pads, spring casings, and full overhauls. |
| Concert percussion | Concert snare, concert toms, and concert bass drum: heads, tuning, and hardware. |
| Marching percussion | Snares, tenors, and basses: head changes, tuning, and hardware. |
| Keyboards | Marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel, and chimes: cords, dampers, frames, and resonators in house, with bar and motor work managed through us. |
| Hand and world drums | Djembe, conga, bongo, bodhran, frame drums, and talking drum: heads and tune-ups. |
| Auxiliary | Tambourine, castanets, tam-tam, and triangle. |
What we do not do: electronic drums or electronic percussion, and any instrument outside the percussion family.
- You tell us what you have, with the make and model if you know it. A few photos and measurements help us scope it.
- We send a clear written estimate, and no work starts until you have approved the plan and the price.
- We source every part and head ahead of the visit.
- A technician comes to your facility with everything on the truck.
- The work is finished in one visit, on your schedule.
- You are covered by the 30-day guarantee. Where a repair needs checking after it settles, we leave a note on what to watch for.

A few we're proud of
13 timpani, two days, one university
The University of North Florida called us out for 13 timpani spread across three rooms: old heads, tuning gauges missing parts, and pedals that would not hold. We confirmed every part with the percussion director by email beforehand, sourced all of it ahead of the trip, and spent two days on site, 22.5 hours in total, stripping, cleaning, and rebuilding each drum. They left looking, sounding, and working like new.
Chimes that had sat silent for years
First Flight Middle School had a set of chimes that had been unusable for years and a timpano missing parts nobody could source. We tracked down the parts, overhauled the timpani, and reassembled the chimes, all in one trip. The kids were so excited to have working equipment.
A 1960s Ludwig kit that finally sang
A player brought us a 1960s Ludwig drum set with buzzing and ringing he had lived with for a long time. We found the hardware and lug problems behind it, fixed them, and tuned the kit. His words: “I've never heard these drums sing like this before.”

The 1960s Ludwig kit from the story above: lugs and shell before and after the cleanup that came with its hardware fix and tuning.
Common questions
It depends on the instrument and the work, but common jobs are straightforward. A drum-set head change is $45 per drum, a concert snare or tom head change is $65, and a full timpani head change with cleaning and adjustments runs $160 per drum. You get one clear price before any work starts, and it's set for a school budget.
Yes. Nearly all work is done on site at your school, church, or hall. Only overhaul work that needs a bench comes off site, to a technician's workshop.
Every job is planned in advance so the right parts and heads are on the truck. Some visits book within a few days, others wait on parts. It is not same-day service, but once we are there the work is finished in one visit.
Often it is worth repairing. More than one director came to us after being told their timpani were beyond repair, and we got them working again. We will tell you honestly what needs fixing now, what can wait, and what is genuinely done.
A technician lives in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte. Outside those metros we still travel for the right job. Tell us where you are and we will let you know.
All of them. We are an authorized repair-parts dealer for Ludwig, Musser, Pearl, Adams, and Yamaha, and we work on every other make as well. Percussion is the only instrument family we touch.
